Ready For War?
In a daring move, Colombian forces raided Ecuador Monday in order to liquidate a FARC rebel leader. Now, Ecuador has severed ties with Colombia and moved troops to it's border, while neighboring Venezuela has followed suit, and mobilized its military.
Despite Ecuador's diplomatic positioning, the question worrying observers most is whether tensions between Venezuela and Colombia will evolve into armed conflict. Rory Carroll and Sybylla Brozinsky break down the brinksmanship in Tuesday's Guardian.
