Zardari seeks Saudi help for Friends of Pakistan forum President Asif Ali Zardari met Saudi King Abdullah on Tuesday as he arrived on a two-day visit to seek support for the Friends of Pakistan initiative, hoping to secure financial help to avoid having to go to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a loan. The two leaders agreed to increase economic co-operation in the meeting, “stating that stability, security and prosperity of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were interlinked”, Pakistani state media said. It is right decision of the President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardai to meet Saudi King to seek his help to cater to the needs in Pakistan. The people in Pakistan and the politicians don’t like to Pakistan to get huge loans from IMF on interest, which would create more problems for Pakistan. Pakistan had hardly got rid of IMF for writing off its debts in the recent past, so once again it should not go into the trap of IMF to entangle Pakistan.
