LANDIKOTAL: Hours long power outage increased miseries of the local people in Landikotal. Shopkeepers working with electricity, beside computers and learning institutions have closed down their businesses due to un-scheduled load shedding.
Meanwhile, local people of the Ali Masjid, in protest against Tesco officials, have put electric chain on the main supply line to suspend power supply to government offices along with Army cantonment at Landikotal. Talking to this scribe, shopkeepers in Landikotal bazaar showed great concerned on inhuman and unjustified role played by Tesco, shopkeepers rejected the excuses of Tesco that due to over-load on Landikotal grid station they had to suspend power supply to Landikotal, they said that they were paying regularly bills Rs, 150-500 to Wapda each month. “whenever they pay bribe to Tesco each month then they not cut off the light but every month they were increasing the black amount” a shopkeeper revealed.
A business man, on the condition of anonymity revealed that in spite of regular bills paid to Wapda they had to pay bribes to the officials of Tesco here in Landikotal. Adding, that light remained off twenty hours in twenty four hours. Consumers facing problem of non-availability of daily commodities due to closure of markets.
Commenting on the situation Tesco officials in Landikotal found contradiction in their views. Landikotal Tesco superintendent Muhammad Khan, said that due to over loading on the Landikotal grid station they had to suspend power supply to maximum areas number by number .However, the Line superintendent in Landikotal Tesco, Salim Khan rejected it said that mismanagement had caused the long hours load shedding in Landikotal. Line superintendent Salim Khan further said that Tesco superintendent have had compelled to keep smooth power supply to the villages where there bigwigs of the area live. It worth to be mentioned here that, power supply was remain running to army cantonment with out any break.
