Thousands of tourists, including about 150 New Zealanders, have been affected by the six-day
airport occupation.
The trouble is threatening to escalate, with widespread street protests in Bangkok against the
anti-government campaigners who have occupied the city's two main airports.
The New Zealand government says it is working with Australian officials and foreign airlines to
get stranded New Zealanders out of Thailand as quickly as possible.
The Thai government is shuttling some tourists to an airbase 150km east of Bangkok, as an
alternative landing site for airlines, but travellers have complained of long delays and confusion.
